US education exhibition at UMM Dome. |
STUDYING in the United States of America (USA) became an attractive choice for many Indonesian students. University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has cooperated with Education USA held an educational exhibition and the USA scholarship that held at UMM Dome on Thursday, September 14.
Before the exhibition, it began with a seminar on educational access to the USA. The exhibition was attended by 15 universities of the USA and some providers of scholarship. General Consul of the United States Heather Variava attended during opening ceremony.
According to Heather, currently there are nine thousand students in the USA who come from Indonesia. For him, those students was an honor for the USA. They were cultural and educational ambassadors for the two countries in which Indonesia and the USA were the two countries with a lot of cultural diversity.
It was the second moment in which the Education USA entrusted UMM as a place of exhibition activities. Heather said, it was a pride in collaborating with UMM, the campus that has many international achievements.
UMM and the USA cooperation has long been established because UMM has an American Corner which became the information center for UMM students and Malang residents. UMM has also hosted several programs for American governments such as Peace Corps and the US Army.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Syamsul Arifin MSi said the cooperation with the USA become a main door for public, especially Malang city in obtaining informations regarding education and American culture.
The USA Education Exhibition was very useful activity for UMM students who want to continue their education. Nowadays, the Indonesian government has facilitated many scholarships to continue their education abroad. (Naz)
