Be proud! For the first time, the tennis team of lecturers and employees of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) won the 2nd and 3rd place in the national tennis tournament held at the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus).
The event which was held for the first time by the Dikti assembly of the Muhammadiyah central leadership was attended by representatives of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah universities throughout Indonesia (PTM / A). It is held for 2 days, February 18-19 2019.
UMM Rector Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. who also as the UMM Tennis team leader felt proud to win the prestigious event. Fauzan said, winning a number of championship seats made the UMM Tennis team increasingly respected.
"Our success in winning the tournament is inseparable from the enthusiasm and practice carried out by the UMM team. Exercise is done 3 times a week plus adding special portions of intense training," Fauzan explained.

The UMM Tennis Team succeeded in occupying the Runner Up, they were Dr. Baiduri and Yoyok. While the third winner was obtained by another UMM team representative, they were the pair of UMM Rector Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. and M. Ahyar Muslimin.
Fauzan hoped that the success of UMM in winning this tournament can provide positive news to further increase the existence of the campus, not only in the academic field but also in the field of sports development, especially tennis.
The national tournament, which was attended by 20 universities of PTM and PTA in Indonesia, competed in 3 age categories, they were U 50 - 50 and above, U 40 - 50 and free by using a half-competition system.
According to the Head of Committee Ganjar, this system will increasingly give confidence to players. That was by being able to meet each other so that they can show their abilities to do tennis balls maximally while at the same time strengthening friendship.

"One of the objectives of the national tennis tournament was to provide enthusiasm and spirit of the relationship between Muhammadiyah universities through field tennis," said Ganjar.
On the same occasion, Rector Unimus Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd. expressed his appreciation to all participants who took part in the turnover and at the same time asked for prayer so that Unimus could become one of the great universities.
"Aside from being an adhesive for friendship, this tournament can be an encouragement for Unimus to be like its siblings who have obtained A accreditation such as UMM, UMY and UMS," he said in his speech. (Win)
