The development of the world of education today needs to be combined with the times. This is considering the adherence of young people including students with technology. This time, the Study Program (Prodi) Mathematics Faculty of Teacher Training and Education UMM received cooperation with Casio Singapore in Casio Education Indonesia Program.
After signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Mathematics IT-Based Teaching Development on Faculty of Teacher Training and Education on Thursday (5/7), The Education Manager Team of Casio, Mutia Meilina conveyed that this cooperation s run to develop education in Indonesia. She said, “Currently, Casio cooperates with educators all over the world, one of them is UMM”.
In Education field, Casio has scientific calculator, projector, and music instruments that are used by Mathematics Department. It will make the teaching and learning process easier and the students will benefit it. Scientific calculator teaches about mathematical patterns using calculators without eliminating the procedures that have existed.
Casio Team proposed several points on the MoU that need to be dealt by both UMM and Casio, they are making UMM as research center, publishing both national and international scientific journals, holding national and international seminars, and also supporting technology in entrepreneurship.
The Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Dr. Poncojari Wahyono welcomes this cooperation greatly. He expects that this cooperation benefits for both UMM and Casio. He said, “Hopefully, this cooperation can elevate the IT-based teaching and learning process, so it can support the needs of students about knowledge”. (lus)
