News of another achievement came again from Sherpa Academy, which was created by UMM students. After successfully passing the funding for the Program Pembinaan Mahasiswa Wirausaha (P2MW) [Trans.: Entrepreneurial Student Development Program], from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of Indonesia. Sherpa Academy managed to win first place in the national business competition. The championship entitled Expo Student Entrepreneurship Innovation was organized by the University of Ahmad Dahlan by the end of July 2023.
Samsul Huda said that his participation in this competition aims to garner public attention and increase the brand awareness of Sherpa Academy. As this championship was for an individual, he was chosen to represent his team to present Sherpa Academy as a business plan.
“Alhamdulillah, we feel excited because making an achievement for myself and my team and UMM. This is a beginning milestone for me to continue to improve my quality, especially in business and entrepreneurship,” said Samsul.

Furthermore, the management student said that Sherpa Academy is an institution or platform that offers scholarship preparation mentorship to senior high school students. Sherpa Academy has the vision to improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia through comprehensive provision that includes knowledge, technical skills, and character building.
“Sherpa Academy commits to paving the way for scholarship hunters to achieve their dreams. This platform stands for an answer and a solution for those who still get confused about scholarship preparation,” explained Samsul.
The student having a hobby of reading, added that Sherpa Academy has a concept as an edutech institution. In its learning, the platform is closely related to the use of technology. For instance, its mentoring classes are conducted through Zoom Meeting, Slido, and Padlet as part of the curriculum provided.

“I did not encounter many obstacles during the preparation and the competition. Perhaps, it was technical matters in preparing for the expo. I also got full support from my team, supervisors, and faculty in this competition,” said Samsul.
Last but not least, the young man from Trenggalek hopes that this winning can enhance his skills and achievements, mainly in business and entrepreneurship. He also advises other students to keep learning to improve their abilities and not be afraid to try new things.
“Be a student who actively participates in a range of competitions or programs. Believe the results you will get will be an achievement and pride for yourself, your parents, and also the White Campus UMM,” concluded the management student. (imh/zak)
