International collaboration continues to be developed by Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Lately, UMM cooperates with stakeholders from China, including Wuhan Hyde Cambridge Education Consulting and Service. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agenda was held on the 3rd of June, 2023. Atase Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Atdikbud) (trans: Attache of Education and Culture) at the Indonesian Embassy in China, Yudil Chatim SKM, M.Ed., also attended the event.
Yudil, his nickname, said that he already prepared some of the best universities that could work with the White Campus, including the universities that incorporated 211 programs owned by the China government. "The 211 program is China's attempt to triumph in the 21st century and become number one. There are 200 campuses in this program. Later on, I will choose some of the best campuses, which is the cornerstone of education there," he said.

In addition, he also tries to prepare the campuses that are part of the 985 program. There are only 20 campuses in China that do have the credibility to be incorporated. Some focus on medicine, chemistry, engineering, and others. "Thus, the academic community can participate in implementing various programs in China. Later on, if there anyone who wants to continue their studies, I will find a campus from the 211 and 985 programs," he said.
He also emphasized that China become the biggest investor in Indonesia. Therefore, this moment should be utilized to engage a good collaboration not only for a university to university but also university to business as well as university to university business. Then, he considered the MoU that UMM did was very strategic. Not only focusing on the development of the academic community but also on strengthening and preparing human resources on a global scale.
"I am ready to facilitate various collaboration, mainly related to education. Yesterday I inivite the representative of Wuhan Hyde Cambridge Education Consulting and Service for sightseeing in UMM and stay at Rayz Hotel UMM. They are awe and amazement because UMM can develop the education properly. Especially when they heard the amount the students in White Campus exceeds than 40.000. That makes them interested to collaborate," He said.
On the other hand, The chancellor of UMM, Prof. Dr, Fauzan, M. Pd. UMM was also given an interesting offer from a businessman from Macau, Soe To Tie Lin, to provide scholarships for 40 White Campus academics to study in China. Therefore, the collaboration in the MoU is a strategic step, primarily in developing existing education and human resources.
"This is on of the UMM efforts to develop the capacity and intellectual competence. Moreover, the best universities there will be chosen as places for lecturers and academicians to study. With today's MoU, I think will have a positive impact on many stakeholders," he concluded. (Put/Wil)
