4.885 UMM Students Doing the Community Service both Inside and Outside the Country

There are 142 groups which will be sent on July 11^th to 13^th.Vice Director for Community Engagement Affairs, Dr. Masduki, M.Si revealed that those students will be doing services in 11 regencies, 13 districts, and 142 villages. He said, “Those regencies are Malang, Probolinggo, Tulungagung, Jombang, Lamongan, Pasuruan, Lumajang, and Pacitan”.

The Head of Community Service Division, Alik Ansyori Alamsyah revealed that each group must have superior programs. They have to strive in order to make their programs published in media both online and printed. Furthermore, they have to learn how to make Community Service book, village profile, and a video about their activities during the community service which is then uploaded on youtube.

Every group is divided into some divisions to maximize the work. Alik said, “Every group is divided into divisions in the field of religion, social, economy, health, entrepreneurship, and environment”.

Meanwhile, International Community Service is done in Asian and Middle East countries. Alik said, “55 students of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education go to Thailand, 2 students of Economics and Business go to Singapore, while others who have joined AIESEC go Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Turkey”.

Vice Rector III, Dr. Sidik Sunaryo asked the students to avoid doing bad things during the Community Service. “Please behave nicely because you are sent by this campus. So, you have to look after the good name of our campus”. (lus)
