UMM Students joining Erasmus+ Program in EU |
The cooperation between University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and Erasmus+ EU Consortium is broadening. In 2017, UMM cooperates with seven consortiums from seven universities in Europe. This strengthens the cooperation which was already established since 2009.
There are four universities in Europe cooperate with UMM, which are Universidade do Minho Portugal, Politehnica University of Timisoara Romania, University of Opole Poland and WSB University in Poznan Poland. Thus, there are three universities that renewed the consortium of cooperation, which are University of Murcia Spain, University of Latvia, and Lublin University of Technology Poland.
Lecturers and students have chances to join exchange programs in European campuses through these programs. Assistant Rector for International Office Affairs of UMM, Soeparto, said that those seven consortium cooperation obtained by UMM is amazing. He said.” It has exceeded from the target”.
Initially, UMM only targeted five proposals signed from ten proposals submitted, but fortunately there are seven proposals signed. Soeparto said.” Now, UMM has ten consortiums on the Erasmus+ program. Next year, we will sub 15 proposals for Erasmus+ consortium cooperation to expand the international cooperation of UMM”.
Moreover, Soeparto said that UMM has so many alumni of Erasmus + program. The number of Erasmus Mundus and Erasmus + UMM alumni is the highest compared to all private universities in East Java or even in Indonesia. In detail, UMM has sent 10 staffs, 19 lecturers and 56 students to attend training, teaching, conducting research and studying at various universities in Europe through this program. (lus)
