University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is responsive to helping the victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy. Several teams were deployed, such as the medical and psychological teams, which aim to assist, accompany, and listen to the complaints of the victims' families and provide psychological services. The team is also part of the trauma support mobility movement, which has carried out assistance and coordination. One of them on Thursday (6/10) and the coordinating minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) RI Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy M.A.P. at the UMM Dome theater.
In addition to the UMM team, the trauma support mobility movement was also filled by a team from the District Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Service. Malang, HIMPSI Malang, Save the Children, Maharesigana UMM, MDMC, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Universitas Merdeka, Universitas Brawijaya and a number of others. Also present were BTS ARMY Help Center Indonesia representatives who will support the trauma support process.
Muhadjir considered this joint team an excellent effort to resolve the incident in Kanjuruhan. "Yesterday, I had the chance to meet the deceased's father. Two of his children were taken in the Kanjuruhan incident. Of course, helping from a psychological point of view is also important and targets not only the victims who are watching but also the bereaved families," he added.
Regarding operational funds, he explained that there are ready-to-use funds (DSP) in local governments that can be allocated. It includes providing compensation to families and trauma support activities. He also encouraged the chancellors at Malang universities to contribute to the series of psychological assistance to make it more massive.
"We don't need to see who goes first, who contributes the most. It is a social disaster that is non-discriminatory, so everyone must participate in assisting. Friends can also invite other organizations and parties to participate in helping in this tragedy," he said to the team representatives.
In addition, UMM also collaborated and coordinated with Aremania Campus Putih to collect data on the number of victims since (2/10). Coordinator of the data collection team and Aremania UMM White Campus, Muh. Farhannudin Nur Avif said that until now, his team is still looking for valid data. Moreover, the numbers differ from one another. Some found that 125 people died, some 183, some even 200. So, careful data collection is essential.

In addition, he and his team continued searching for the injured in the tragedy that night. The number is certainly more than the dead. He admitted that the search process is also quite time-consuming because it is more complicated.
Farhan, his nickname, said that this sad tragedy made a deep impression on his heart. He considers all Aremania his brother. So, one of his efforts was to look for valid victim data to the very end. Moreover, many children are orphaned because their parents left, even though the original intention was to watch football.
"I am also grateful that the White Campus has helped us in this process. Even yesterday, he also offered to establish a post at UMM. Always support and provide tools to facilitate data validation. Of course, we appreciate this. The role of UMM is to connect us with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture to convey our aspirations to other officials and the government. Hopefully, the investigation process and the determination of suspects can be carried out quickly and accurately," added the UMM Civil Engineering student. (cdr/*/wil)
