University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) continues to uphold the vision of becoming a global university. To realize it, UMM massively did a lot of collaborating with various international stakeholders. The latest information, The White Campus collaborated with Non-Alignment Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM-CSSTC). This collaboration was formed by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on June 7.
The NAM CSSTC is an intergovernmental organization commonly known as the non-aligned movement. A lot of collaboration is done to achieve the mission of increasing capacity. Including human resource capacity. Currently, there are more than 100 countries that are members of it.

The director of NAM-CSSTC, Diar Nurbintoro, assesses that UMM has specific and measurable goals in developing education for Indonesian college students and international students. For this reason, NAM-CSSTC chose the white campus to collaborate with in human development.
"I have known the UMM campus for a long time. Its development is accelerated. Moreover, the Center of Excellence (CoE) program is innovative and can be the answer to human resource problems. We will also certainly contribute to the development of this CoE program," said Diar.
The man who has been the Indonesian Ambassador to Romania also explained the function of NAM-CSST. One of them is to provide capacity-building development, especially for countries that are members of the non-aligned movement and south-south countries.
"One of the methods is by providing scholarships to foreign students from related countries who are studying in Indonesia. For now, the implementation of cooperation with UMM is still related to scholarships. Hopefully in the future, this cooperation can be expanded, such as in the aspect of research," concluded Diar.

On the other hand, Dr. Ir. Listiari Hendraningsih, MP. as the head of IRO UMM, explained that the collaboration with the Non-Aligned Movement is focused on providing S2 scholarships to international students of non-aligned members who are studying at UMM. There are more than a hundred countries that are members of the non-aligned movement, starting from countries from the African continent, Latin America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
Lis, her nickname, also said that cooperation would be developed at a greater level, mainly in research collaboration and significant contributions to global progress.
"This is also the real proof of UMM's internationalization efforts. Increasing the quantity of cooperation with international parties and improving the quality in implementing concrete activities from the collaboration," she concluded. (Put/Faq/Zak/Wil)
