Talking about technological advancement, The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held an international conference to explore Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The conference was held on September 7th, entitled International Conference on Technology, Informatics, and Engineering (ICon-TINE) 2023. This event specifically studies human relationships and collaboration with digital machines.
Various experts and technologists from multiple countries were present. Such as Prof. Masatoshi Tsuchiya from Toyohashi University of Technology Japan, Assoc. Prof. Grzegors Kolaczek from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology Poland, as well as several speakers from the White Campus.

Tsuchiya made an interesting point about annotating artifacts and large-scale language models. It relates to the research in sectors that require reasoning and understanding of unstructured natural language text. It is also a development model for natural language processing, an AI technique that enables computers to understand human language.
Meanwhile, Grzegors explained the "cybersecurity" system called Anomalies. He stated that detecting anomalies is important to protect the system, the network, and the data from cyber threats. It also can be used to identify suspicious or inappropriate activity.

"This anomaly detection become one of the important component in cyber protection strategy. Therefore, the system and the data that we have ccan be more secured and safe from the cyber threats," he explained.
Even so, he said that some people consider Anomalies very dangerous, mainly for integrity, privacy, system availability, network, data, or computer resources. However, there are many benefits to be found.
"In cyber security context, anomaly detection can be utilized to protect your network and systems from threats. It enables you to identify the hacking activity or suspicious activities quickly. Yet, it is important to remember that utilizing the anomaly need the access to the relevant data and use the right analysis tools, including the artificial intelligence methods such as machine learning," he added.
On the other hand, a lecturer from UMM, Dr. Amrul Faruq, S.T., M.Eng, explained the method of an advanced decision to reduce the risk of catastrophes early warning system. Amrul shows the data about natural disasters in Indonesia. He also mentioned the methods of ensemble learning to solve the problem.
"In short, Ensemble learning is a machine learning technique that improve the accuration and the resilience to forecasting and predicting," he said.
ICon-TINE was held to show the collaboration of humans with technology. Even though Despite the development of technology, humans do not need to feel threatened by its existence. However, we must be able to use it to provide benefits that have yet to be experienced before. (put/*nel/wil)
