Aulia Rachma, a student of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), succeeded in becoming the best graduate at the graduation ceremony for the first period of 2022 on Thursday (24/3). Not only excelling in academics, the Psychology Faculty students who graduated in three and a half years are also active in various social projects and national essay competitions.
Aulia, as she is known, said that her activity during her lectures was not far from her habit of participating in competitions since elementary school. Therefore, the eldest of two siblings began to fill his college years with essay competitions and won several things, for example, the third winner in the essay competition at the national level at Brawijaya University and the third winner in the essay at the level of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM) UMM. Her research project at the Student Creativity Week (PKM) also received funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud).
"The PKM project that my friends and I have developed discusses the mental health of Covid-19 sufferers. We believe that apart from attacking, the virus also looks at the mentality of the sufferers. Therefore, we carry out cognitive behavioral therapy to increase resilience in Covid-19 patients by using cyberpsychology," explained Aulia.

In addition to being active in competing, Aulia is also actively involved in an off-campus community called "Notes Psychology." This Malang-based community is engaged in mental health and self-development. Aulia said that activities from psychological records are usually carried out boldly through webinars and social media.
"Psychology notes are here to bring psychology closer to the community. As we know, there are still Indonesian people who have not been properly educated about mental health. Mental health treatment is not only for crazy people," said the student from Bondowoso.

Not only active in competing and in the community, but Aulia also participates in social projects. Joined in the Community Service Program by students (PMM), Aulia and the team created a Deaf Talk educational program for the general public. This event lasts for two months and is held online via zoom. "With the introduction of this community communication language program, we aim to reduce the distance between friends with disabilities and the general public," said Aulia.
Apart from these activities, Aulia also did an internship program at the Psychology Service Center (PLP) UMM and an international school in Malang. With these activities, Aulia has several ways to balance academic and non-academic activities, namely making priority scales and daily lists.
"The priority scale and to-do list help me be consistent and know my daily targets. In going through tough college days, I have one motto that encourages me to stay motivated: you only live once, so live your life to the fullest," she concluded. (apg/syi/wil)
