Ahmadinejad Sacks Only Woman Minister of Iran

VIVAnews - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sacked Iran's Minister of Health, Marziyeh Vahid Dastjerdi. It was unclear what the reason Ahmadinejad sacked Dastjerdi. Page BBC, Thursday, December 27, 2012, proclaiming dismissal Dastjerdi is associated with the desire to raise the price of drugs to combat the effects of international sanctions.

Dastjerdi is the only female minister in Ahmadinejad's cabinet. He also became the first female minister in the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran since last 30 years.

The Iranian economy is being difficult. Some analysts say the international sanctions have dire consequences on the economy of the country that the Mullahs. Country's currency also plunged.

Before dismissal, Dastjerdi, said the increase in the exchange rate causes an increase in drug prices was inevitable. He complained about the inability of the department to gain access to foreign currency, as he had promised.

"In the first half of the current year, the Central Bank has not allocated any exchange to import medicines and medical equipment," he said. However, speaking on television, Ahmadinejad said that sufficient funds have been disbursed to the Ministry of Health.
