There Should be no Again Weepy Songs in Egypt

VIVAnews - The Egyptian government prohibits dialed romantic or love songs that seem whiny and lilting. This ban was issued following the tense situation in Egypt following the political situation heats up.

Al-Arabiya reported, the ban was announced in the government-owned newspaper al-Ahram on Thursday, December 13, 2012. The entire television stations broadcast in Egypt banned love songs and replace them with patriotic songs.

"These songs are worth airing nationalist allowed," wrote al-Ahram. This ban must be complied with by 23 television stations in Egypt.

Prohibited also songs allusions to political leaders of Egypt, because the political situation is still sensitive. "There is no mention how long the ban is in force.

This ban direct condemnation in cyberspace. Internet users in Egypt questioned the effectiveness of the ban on the country's security situation.

However, Mina Naguib bloggers challenging the legality of the ban. According to him, it could be that the news was false, used as a diversionary issue for journalists who are busy talking about the political situation.

He said this situation had occurred in the 1970s when the Egyptian government ordered cut love scenes throughout the film. "This is a rumor that spread to distract journalists and activists by giving them a new issue. Now, they want to keep us from talking about the constitution," said Naguib.

Chaotic politics in Egypt began when President Mohamed Mursi announced a decree which was considered a dictator. Riots last week that killed several people and injured dozens more. The opposition against the planned referendum a new constitution of Egypt which was considered not representative of all the people.
