Medan (ANTARA News) - Aceh Jaya, province of Aceh hit by an earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale on Thursday night at 20:47 pm.
Head of Information Services and Data BMKG Region I Field, Hendra Suwarta in Medan on Thursday evening said the quake was centered at 4.52 degrees north latitude and 95.04 degrees east longitude.
While the location of the quake was located at 77 km southwest of Aceh Jaya district with a depth of 65 km below sea level.
Measuring 6.0 magnitude tremor was also felt in Banda Aceh and Meulaboh, West Aceh district.
BMKG Region I Field predict an earthquake measuring 5.8 magnitude does not pose a potential tsunami.
