Heavy Rain, Adolescent 15 Years Swept Away by The River

VIVAnews - Heavy rain which flushed the capital city of Jakarta since at 10.00 pm last, causing some rivers to overflow. As a result, one of the young 15-year swept away of river Angke, near Green Garden, Kedoya, West Jakarta.

Teen named Taufik, 15, known to drift a rushing river while playing with friends in Angke. Taufik drifting at around 14:25 pm. Operations Section Chief Tribal Fire Department and Disaster Management (Damkar PB) Jakarta, Sutarno, confirmed the incident.

"After playing in the same Angke his friends, and that one fell into the river," said Sutarno, Sunday, November 18, 2012.

Taufik is a resident of RT 09 RW 02, North Kedoya, Jakarta. Officers assisted Damkar PB West Jakarta police still search for survivors.

"There are also officers who seek the lifeboat," he said.

He admitted, Angke current is very swift when it rains. He therefore urged to avoid the river bank when heavy rains flushed again.

Kebon Jeruk Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Sutoyo said the company is also still searching for victims. "Still we were looking for. We can not be sure survive or not," he said.
