Symbol

The blue pentagon-shaped symbol of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) with the writing of “Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang” and the picture of paddy and cotton and “Muhammadiyah” symbol has the following meaning:

1. Pentagon shape

Representing the spirit of Five Pillars of Islam and Five Principles of Pancasila

2. Blue color

Representing peace

3. Sprigs of Paddy and Cotton 

Representing the struggle for the nation’s welfare

4. Muhammadiyah symbol

Twelve rays of the sun, with the writing of “Muhammadiyah” (in Arabic letters) and a circle of syahadah creed “Asyhadu an la illaha illa Allah wa asyhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah” (in Arabic letters)
