The man who has the hobby of playing basketball admitted that he only had three days to prepare for the championship. He inevitably had to optimize this time to train and create his characteristics for performing songs. Likewise with stage mastery, so as not to be nervous.
"During the championship, I performed Fabio Asher's song titled 'Bertahan Terluka.' To create uniqueness and develop my singing style, I dedicated three days to craft and refine my voice's character for myself. Additionally, I arranged the song to give it a distinct sound. So, it didn't have the same tone and intonation as the original," he explained.

He felt satisfied and joyful upon receiving the 3rd place award. Moreover, he now has the opportunity to advance to the national level in the Bintang Radio Championship. Definitely, there are hurdles, including those faced in every competition by Afdhil. Nervousness was one of them. Despite frequently participating in prestigious events at UMM, he still felt nervous for a few seconds on stage.
"I knew about the competition quite close to the event date, so the preparation was last-minute. Nervousness is inevitable, but I imagined singing at the campus events I usually attend," said Afdhil.
Finally, he advised all UMM students to believe in themselves and showcase their abilities and talents by participating in various competitions. According to him, competitions serve as platforms to assess one's abilities and train the mental aspect of competition.
"Every talent will dull or even vanish if we don't nurture and develop it. We must be confident and willing to try new things. Especially at UMM, numerous opportunities can be pursued based on our interests, talents, and potential," he concluded. (*faq/wil/fajr)
