Usually, the schedule of cooperation is carried out with an official ceremonial procession. But not with the Aquaculture Study Program (Prodi) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). They signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with PT. Garin Agro Sejahtera (GAS) while doing tennis. The schedule was held at the UMM tennis court on Friday (1/1).
Ganjar Adhiwirawan Sutarjo S.Pi, M.P as the head of the Aquaculture Study Program, said that not all collaborations have to be done officially. Playing tennis together while discussing the important things of both parties can also be tried. "Incidentally, the director and CEO of PT. GAS, Pak Yoga Pinasatria, and Pak Hery Sudarmono like to play tennis. So I might as well ask the Chancellor, ”he explained further.

This Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) itself is a continuation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed last year. Ganjar said this cooperation has good benefits for both of them, especially in the shrimp industry. One of them is so that UMM can produce professionals who are focused and skilled in this business. The program also facilitates the needs of the industry in recruiting competent university graduates.
Besides, the collaboration between the two was able to create a new program in UMM's Aquaculture Study Program, namely the professional class shrimp. Students later can get material related to shrimp management, both delivered by industry and lecturers. "As far as I know, UMM is the only university in Indonesia that provides professional classes in this field," said the lecturer who was born in Banggai.

In the future, they will also collaborate with UMM LSP to compile material related to shrimp professional competence. Besides that, students are expected to be able to carry out an internship and research process at PT. Garin Agro Sejahtera. "Internships and research that students do there are and also part of the independent learning program campus. Later, the assessments they can convert into values, "he explained.
At the end of the interview session, Ganjar hopes that this signing can improve student competence and make it easier for alumni to find suitable jobs. Besides that, it was also a motivation for UMM students to graduate on time. Lumrahnya, agenda kerja sama dilakukan dengan prosesi seremonial yang resmi. Namun tidak dengan Program Studi (Prodi) Akuakultur Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Mereka meneken Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) bersama PT. Garin Agro Sejahtera (GAS) sambil melakukan olahraga tenis. Adapun agenda ini dilaksanakan di lapangan tenis UMM pada Jumat (1/1).
Ganjar Adhiwirawan Sutarjo S.Pi, M.P selaku ketua Prodi Akuakultur menyampaikan bahwa tidak semua kerja sama harus dilakukan secara resmi. Bermain tenis bersama sambil mendiskusikan hal penting dari kedua belah pihak juga bisa dicoba. “Kebetulan direktur dan CEO PT. GAS, Pak Yoga Pinasatria dan Pak Hery Sudarmono suka bermain tenis. Jadi sekalian saja saya ajak bersama dengan Pak Rektor,” jelasnya lebih lanjut.

MoA ini sendiri merupakan kelanjutan dari MoU yang sudah diteken di tahun lalu. Ganjar mengatakan kerja sama ini memiliki manfaat besar bagi keduanya, utamanya dalam industri udang. Salah satunya adalah agar UMM bisa mencetak profesional yang fokus dan ahli dalam bisnis ini. Agenda tersebut juga memudahkan kebutuhan pihak industri dalam menjaring lulusan-lulusan perguruan tinggi yang berkompeten.
Selain itu, kolaborasi keduanya mampu melahirkan program baru di Prodi Akuakultur UMM, yakni kelas profesional udang. Mahasiswa nantinya bisa mendapat materi terkait pengelolaan udang, baik yang disampaikan oleh pihak industri maupun dosen. “Sejauh yang saya tahu, UMM adalah satu-satunya perguruan tinggi di Indonesia yang menyediakan kelas profesional di bidang ini,” kata dosen kelahiran Banggai itu.

Ke depannya, mereka juga akan menggandeng LSP UMM untuk menyusun materi terkait kompetensi profesional udang. Disamping itu, mahasiswa diharapkan bisa melaksanakan proses magang serta riset di PT. Garin Agro Sejahtera. “Magang dan riset yang mahasiswa lakukan di sana juga menjadi bagian dari program merdeka belajar kampus merdeka. Nantinya penilaian yang mereka dapat bisa dikonversikan menjadi nilai,” jelasnya.
Di akhir sesei wawancara, Ganjar berharap agar penanda tanganan ini bisa meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa serta memudahkan alumni untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan yang sesuai. Selain itu juga sebagai pendorong agar mahasiswa UMM bisa lulus tepat waktu. “Hal ini sesuai dengan program UMM Pasti yang pernah Pak Rektor Fauzan sampaikan,” pungkas dosen yang juga hobi bersepeda ini.
