Dreams cannot be achieved in one night. It takes a lot of struggle and a lot of time to achieve those dreams. It is okay to dream, but it must also be followed by consistency, struggle, and tireless prayer to achieve it. This statement was conveyed by Andi Afrilliya Ani S. Ikom, M. Ikom as Corporate Communication of Purwodadi Botanical Garden in UMM Talks in early July. She is also an alumnus of the Communication Science Study Program of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM).
According to her, a dream is an achievement obtained through endless effort and prayer. Lia, her nickname, was one of UMM's best graduates at that time. She said that her achievement was undeniably due to her persistence and struggle during college. "At first, I told one of the UMM lecturers at that time, saying that I would bring my parents to sit on the VIP bench at graduation," she said.
Her dream was fulfilled, and with a GPA of 3.89, she proudly brought her parents to sit on the VIP bench alongside the parents of the best graduates. This dream can be achieved thanks to her consistency since the beginning. She has always been an active student in class, taking notes, answering lecturers' questions, or helping friends who are struggling in the course. All of that she did without coercion and with a sense of joy.

Furthermore, she said that to achieve her dreams, she can start by recognizing herself first. Like what things you like, strengths, weaknesses, or basic things to recognize yourself. It can also be done by running a hobby, through the hobby can also be one of the things that determines the dream.
In achieving your dreams, there must be many obstacles to overcome. Like Lia, who told the story of the beginning of her career journey as a corporate communicator, communication was not easy. After graduating, she worked at a hotel. The challenges were quite a lot because she had just entered the workforce and didn't know the skills of the world of hospitality. Then, she continued to learn in order to gain skills in the world of hospitality.
After that, she continued her career at a batik gallery in the Malang area. Based on her networking and public relations skills from college and working in hotels, she made a significant change in the gallery by bringing in many customers. Then she decided to take a break from her work life and focus on taking care of her children.

Finally, with her experience from hotels and batik galleries, she can now work as Corporate Communication for Purwodadi Botanical Garden. The dream that she achieved was not easy to achieve. There were many struggles and ups and downs that she had to go through. "Especially sacrificing time, especially when I was also taking care of my children and working. Happy yes, tired yes; there were many ups and downs that I faced at that time," she continued.
To achieve your dreams, the first thing is to know yourself, make an effort, and don't waste time. Not just doing productive things because you have free time. While you are still young, do many productive things to support your skills in the world of work.
"Don't be sad or discouraged if you haven't achieved your dreams yet. Just focus, be consistent, and don't waste time, you can reap the rewards later. If you are still confused about your passion, try to have some me time and do things that make you happy. If there is no gap, then it could be your passion," she ended. (Tri/Wil/Put)
