Muhammad Anas Asri is an outstanding graduate of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) who has successfully developed his potential without ignoring academic grades. He is known to be productive due to his often participation in student exchange programs. Also, Anas manages to cultivate his hobby, become a motor racer, and master Indonesian and Chinese languages.
“I do like the world of communication, and a language is one of the ways to be able to take existing opportunities. Either it is student exchange programs or prestigious competitions,” said he.
While studying at UMM, he got several chances to study abroad. For example, Anas joined the World Muslim Student Exchange Program at the University of Putra Malaysia and the University of Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2018. Next, from 2021 to 2022, he also participated in a student exchange program in Poland, specifically at the University of Silesia Katowice and Maria Curie-Skłodowska University by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.

Although busy with many things, Anas does not forget his hobby and interest in racing. He is considered to actively participate in the Yamaha Sunday Race, a motorcycle racing championship, and to get support from Yamaha Flagship Shop Bali. Surprisingly, his undergraduate thesis even raised the topic related to automotive due to his passion for racing,
Not only that, he also tries to immerse himself in entrepreneurship, mainly in food and beverages. Since 2019, Anas has begun opening a coffee shop named The Lawn Coffe and Eatery. Besides getting additional profits, the eatery is also his private laboratory for applying communication studies.

“Furthermore, at UMM, we students are also taught to develop an entrepreneurial spirit. How to build a business, its strategy, and how to keep it running continuously,” said Anas.
Last but not least, Anas also advised young people not to focus on results. “Never back down and give up in the middle of the process. Focus and absorb all the values you face. Hopefully, we can get through it and gain the best results from the best efforts,” concluded the racer and businessman. (imh/faq/wil)
