Only a few campuses, like the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), open influencer pathway registration. Prospective students do not need to take a test. They can be directly selected and accepted, as experienced by Dinda Nur Aisyah, a Communication Student at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. She shared her experience of how exciting enrolling through the influencer pathway registration of UMM at the UMMTalks on August 4th.
The girl, known as Ayca, initially said she had not planned to continue her bachelor’s degree at UMM. However, while engrossed in social media, she noticed that UMM opened an influencer pathway registration for prospective students. Due to her curiosity, she looked for more information on the website.

“I stalked the official website of UMM at that time and saw that there were many pathway registrations, including the influencer pathway one. At first, I did not believe that there was such. But when it was offered, it turned out it really existed,” she said.
To ensure the existence of the influencer pathway registration of UMM, Ayca, with her father, even visited the university while touring campus facilities. “Without thinking long, my father and I finally agreed after seeing and knowing the costs and facilities I would get. I got 100% first-semester tuition fees and a discount for Muhammadiyah-based school alumni at that time. Hence, the cost should have been more than 20 million, only I paid as much as 13 million. It is not bad, isn’t it?” said the girl from Sidoarjo.
Furthermore, Ayca says she will also gain another discount if her achievement index (AI) is 3.8 or above. Therefore, Ayca always maintains her AI by never skipping classes and diligently submitting assignments. As she emphasized, studying is more essential though she has earned income from being a content creator with over 5000 thousand followers on TikTok.

Ayca also gave several tips for being a content creator. One of them is to regularly post and also update trending content. The uploading time must also be considered. According to her, those three things can increase the possibility of content going viral and getting high views.
The youngest child also shared that becoming an influencer is something she never imagined. Moreover, she initially only uploaded A Day in My Life Content on TikTok, but it turned out to get thousand of viewers. From there, many people began recognizing Ayca.
“Never be shy and afraid to start creating and uploading content. If you are already hesitant, how can you move forward? Nowadays, everything can be used as content. Just start first, because we will never know where our sustenance will come from,” ended the Communication Science student. (imh/ri/wil)
