Thanks to his achievements and journal, Sharia Economics student from the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Mohammad Zinedyne Zidane, successfully graduated without writing a thesis. This was supported by his Sinta 2 scientific journal titled "Organic Waste Management through Black Soldier Fly Maggot Cultivation and Creating Business Opportunities." Interestingly, the title stemmed from a community service activity he conducted. Moreover, this achievement also led him to win second place in the East Java Economic (Ejavec) competition.
"Alhamdulillah, the community service I carried out could continue and led me to graduate without a thesis and win the competition. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my two supervisors, Dr. Rahmad Hakim, S.Hi, M.MA, and Afifah Nur Millatina, SE, M.SEI," he said.

It all started with a community service program (PMM) that he conducted in Sumbersuko Village, Wagir District, Malang. During the identification process, he found that the local residents struggled with organic waste management. Finally, he and his team provided a solution by processing organic waste through maggot cultivation. They provided various training and assistance to ensure that the residents could manage it independently after the team completed the community service program.
"With maggot cultivation, the residents' organic waste could decompose, and they could further process it into fertilizer and animal feed. These fertilizers and animal feeds have the potential to become profitable business opportunities for the residents. I am truly proud that I could contribute something beneficial to the community," he added.
