Prideful achievements keep coming from University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) students. Not only from the academic aspect but also non-academic. One of them came from the UMM Psychology team, which was able to win first place in Kompetisi Ilmiah Mahasiswa Psikologi Universitas Islam (KIMPSI) (trans: the Islamic University Psychology Student Scientific Competition) in the national Film Technique category this September.
Annasa Al Fauza Firanda, a student majoring in Psychology at UMM, successfully led his team to make a high-quality short film. Afa, his nickname, said that this short film tells the story of Islamic psychology, which contains elements of gratitude, patience, and effort. They titled the movie 'Sadar Akan'.
"The title refers to the movie's content: a woman who wants to always look perfect in all fields and is never satisfied with his achievements. Until one day, he was at a low point and didn't realize there was someone he could lean on," he said.

It took less than a month to make, and Afa felt quite overwhelmed. It all started with finding ideas and writing the script. Afa and his team discussed and chatted together to find something interesting. They even changed the storyline a few times to make it more relatable.
One important aspect is finding excellent and suitable actors. This ensures that the message can be conveyed. "We cast a few people to see the depth of the characters and how suitable the actors are," he said.
He also explained that there was a funny mistake in the process that had gone too far. Eventually, they brainstormed how to proceed with the project. At that time, Afa explained that only a few of the crew had experience in videography. So, there were still many who needed help understanding the process.

He is also grateful to the UMM campus for consistently supporting the activities and potential of its students. He chatted several times with the lecturers to find the right solution.
