All matters in this world are difficult, but it will be easy if it is accustomed. It was confirmed directly by Prof. Dr. Abu Rokhmad, M.Ag., as Director General of Islamic Religious Education of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia in front of the graduates of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. He had the opportunity to share his success story at UMM's 115th graduation ceremony on August 29th. Interestingly, he is also an alumnus of UMM, the White Campus.

“Everything is difficult, from waking up, studying, working, finding a partner, and so on. I confirm that it is difficult. Why is it difficult? Because it has not been accustomed and does not have the knowledge. So, your job as graduates is to make sure that what is difficult becomes easy,” he said.

According to him, knowledge, experience, and willingness are the keys to changing a difficult thing into an easy one. Just like the story of his life as a child from the countryside. He recounted his challenging life journey, from being a construction worker to a mosque caretaker. According to him, this grueling journey can be converted into determination to continue to be enthusiastic in achieving goals.

“From a marbot, now a director, it is real proof that everyone has the same opportunity. It's just how we decide to keep trying to reach our dreams or just choose to stay silent. In fact, I am more optimistic about my fellow graduates. You now have easier access to learning, you should be better prepared to face global challenges,” he said.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the UMM Badan Pembina Harian (BPH), Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., explained that to deal with life in the future, the youth must be able to always keep an eye on their goals. There are so many people who fail to reach their goals because they are influenced by the surrounding environment. According to him, a person must have a strong stand, belief, and will to achieve what is aspired to.

“I want to tell a little story. So there was a race to climb a building, and some frogs joined in. Seeing that, a lot of other frogs shouted at them and said that it was impossible. But there was one frog who made it to the top, and it turned out that the frog was deaf and couldn't hear the cheers. What does it mean? Don't be easily influenced by negative comments and the negative impact,“ he said.

Likewise with Fauzan, UMM Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Si., explained that currently youth face the challenge of boredom. The boredom referred to here is a sense of boredom in undergoing activities, including those that are positive in nature. According to him, it is a serious threat in the process towards success.

Nazar, as he is familiarly called, confirmed that UMM graduates have a professional work ethic and can certainly provide benefits to society, the nation, and the Muhammadiyah association. Especially considering that UMM has provided the best provision for its students to face the diversity of life problems.

“Solutive, creative, and innovative attitudes must be possessed by UMM students. All forms of achievements and learning processes at UMM are complex provisions to face complex life challenges as well. I congratulate and enthusiastically welcome the real life,” he concluded. (Faq/Wil/Put)
