This award is issued by the Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) at the National Seminar on Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Law in the Information Technology Era on Thursday (22/07).

The lecturer at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) said that in this writing project, he reviews the behavior of Indonesian people in social media. Fatih continued that although technology development was very rapid, the public did not have good literacy in responding to the technology.

“Even though social media is a human right, it will have negative impacts if it is not controlled properly. The impact can be in the form of spreading fake news, fraud, hacking, and defamation," explained Fatih.

To avoid these destructive impacts, the lecturer who was born in Gresik gave several solutions. According to him, everyone must have moral boundaries and reasonable control. So, can he freedom of expression on social media responsibly. In addition to individual awareness, the government must also take concrete steps to reduce the negative impacts arising from cyberspace.

"The government could limit the ownership of gadgets based on age groups to protect minors. The government can also limit the use of social media accounts with a minimum age limit of 17 years. Then there is also the blocking of accounts containing SARA. The last way is by campaigning for positive content," said Fatih.

Besides Fatih, one of the UMM Faculty of Law Laboratory Instructors, Ilham Dwi Rafiqi, also received an award as Best Presenter. Finally, Fatih hopes people can be more careful in commenting or posting things in cyberspace, especially on social media. “Hopefully, the community can continue to improve themselves and become more polite in interacting virtually. So that there will be no more hoax content, hate speech, fraud, and other bad things in cyberspace," he said. (syi/wil)
