Student Executive Board of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (BEM UMM) held a Seminar and Talkshow of Bina Desa (coaching village) Training on title "Towards Smart Communities and Independent Village Through Technology Innovation Development" at UMM Auditorium on Wednesday, November 8.
In this seminar and talk show, BEM UMM cooperated with the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) of UMM, the Education Offices of Malang Regency and the Community Empowerment Office of East Java. Also presented as the speaker from the Hope Painting Movement community and Team Guys Pro UMM which is the creator of colorful village of jodipan (Kampung Warna-Jodipan).
Appropriate Technology Section Head , Village Community Empowerment Office, East Java Imam Fery Wahyudi, S.H., M.M., welcomed warmly this activity. He explained, in the future, development activities in village will be more focussed and it required participation of local village, especially the thoughts and creative ideas of students. "The budget from the government for developing is ready, but it needs creative ideas to run well, especially from students," he explained.
In line with Fery, Head of Education Office of Malang Regency Dr. M. Hidayat advised students to be realistic and not just a talk to do the development plan in the village as what which has been planned would be matched toward problems that exist in the village. "Before planning the village development, we should know the character and potential of the village through SWOT analysis," he concluded.
Organising activities chief Riski Khoirunnisa explained that its follow-up of will be directly applied. The coaching village location will be determined after depth research from coaching village volunteers. "We have opened the recruitment of coaching village volunteers whose target is all UMM students. For coaching village location, we will do fixation after more research.there are potential villages like Ngantang District and Kampung Topeng (Mask Village) in Buring," he explained. (Naz)
