Follow Up of Directing Course, Students Presented Drama

PROGRAM study of Bahasa Indonesia and Literature (PBSI) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held drama performance as the final project of Direction course for a week, Sunday-Friday (21-25 / 5) in front of parking area basketball court.

Eko Andrianto Saputra said that there were six themes raised in the drama performance. They were spawned in several titles of work, including Dukun-dukunan, Barabah, Mega-mega, Pamit, and Bila Malam Bertambah Malam. The work of 'Pamit' which was staged on Wednesday (24/5) was one of them, a work taken from the script of RT Nol RW Nol by the Indonesian legendary poet, Iwan Simatupang.

There were six groups from three classes performed. Each group consisted of 20 people. In addition, on Friday (2/6) was also held Malang conferment to announce the winner of the best actor and actress category, best setting, best illustration, and best supporting actor.

According to Eko, the most significant difficulties were energy and mind, because they had to work extra hard to arrange the property and light setting because the staging was outdoor. Furthermore, the committee should also be smart to find a way to make clear sound even the actors and actresses spoke without microphone.

Nevertheless, according to this sixth semester students, through the staging of this drama, PBSI students knew students from different classes more closely. "If we usually know, this time we better understand the character of each friend during the work of organizing this staging," he said.

Although it was held in the parking area and sit on the carpet only, but the audiences seemed to crowd the area provided. In fact, not only PBSI students who watched the performance, but also from another majors and general public people. (ard)
