Actively Contributing, Dean of FTTE UMM Invited to International Forum in Brazil

Prof. Dr. Trisakti Handayani, MM., the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), was invited to represent the White Campus at the 2024 Annual Interfaith G20 and PaRD Forum on Religion and Sustainable Development, held in Brasília, Brazil, from August 19-22.

This invitation was extended in recognition of Trisakti's dedication and significant contributions to education and sustainable development. As part of this forum, she joined various international stakeholders, including religious leaders, academics, and professionals from various sectors. The discussions focused on key issues such as combating hunger, poverty, and inequality, as well as exploring the three dimensions of sustainable development—economic, social, and environmental.

The forum also drew inspiration from the theme of the G20 in Brazil: “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet,” which aligns with the priorities of the 19th G20 Summit scheduled for November 2024 in Rio de Janeiro. Trisakti also shared her experiences and contributed through an educational perspective in a global context, while also learning best practices from various parts of the world.

Regarding her participation, Trisakti expressed her honor and gratitude for the invitation. According to her, the forum was an extraordinary opportunity to collaborate with various parties and contribute to achieving global sustainable development goals.

“Certainly, I am committed to continuing to spread benefits and share my knowledge and experiences in the field of education. Additionally, I will absorb a wealth of knowledge and best practices from various countries, which can then be selected and implemented in Indonesia,” she said.

Her participation in this international event not only strengthens FKIP UMM's relationship with the international community but also serves as a global effort to create a more just and sustainable world.
