Indonesia is a strong country in the economic sector, although it was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic a while ago. It was emphasized by Bank Central Asia (BCA) Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono in front of thousands of students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on October 25th. This guest lecture event was titled "Resilience in the Era of Uncertainty".
Furthermore, Widodo said that Indonesia is predicted by many economists that there would be only 2% inflation. It is also indicated by Indonesia's gross domestic product (GDP), which is above average compared to other countries.
"Covid entered Indonesia in 2020, and activities began to return to normal in early 2023. What is surprising is that currently, our inflation is small, which is in the range of 2%, which is very low compared to other countries. And our GDP is more than 5% when other countries are below 3%. It proves that Indonesia can survive the impact of the COVID pandemic," he said.

According to him, this is an achievement to be proud of, and it cannot be separated from the spirit of the Indonesian people in struggling to stabilize the economy, whether it is micro, small or medium enterprises (MSMEs), industry, the private sector, to financial service providers or banks.
Widodo also advised all the youth to participate in the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. The youth's actions, initiatives and innovations determine the sustainability of a nation, including Indonesia, which will meet the so-called best generation.
In front of thousands of audiences, Widodo Mulyono also greatly appreciated the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) for creating a strong economic ecosystem. "In the midst of this economic uncertainty, I am amazed and fully appreciate UMM for creating an economic ecosystem. How UMM has many business units and can strengthen the economy," he said.
It is evidenced by UMM's ability to provide basic needs through facilities infrastructure, ranging from fuel stations, hotels, and hospitals to tourist attractions. According to him, everything offers an optimal economic ecosystem effect so that the circulation of assets in the White Campus environment is adequate and maintained.
On the other hand, UMM Rector Prof. Dr Fauzan, M.Pd., said the world is currently in a competitive era. If it is only sometimes updated with the needs of society, the market, and the business world of the industrial world, it will certainly experience a significant backwardness. Thus, to overcome this problem, UMM created a program, the Center of Excellence (COE), to provide a place for students to face an increasingly dynamic world. (*Faq/Wil/Put)
