Presenting the Chairman of the Constitutional Court, PKPA FH UMM Generates Humanist Advocates

Special Education for the Advocate Profession (PKPA), the result of collaboration between the Faculty of Law, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (FH UMM) and DPC PERADI Malang Raya, has entered its final session, Saturday (24/10). Taking place at GKB IV Hall 9th ​​Floor of UMM, the closing agenda for PKPA 4th Generation was attended by the Head of DPC PERADI Malang Raya and also the Dean of FH UMM, by implementing a very strict health protocol.

 

In the PKPA closing agenda which has been going on for 2 months, Dr. Tongat, SH., M.Hum as the Dean of the Faculty of Law of UMM gave a message to the PKPA participants so that they could become humanist advocates. "The law must be present for humans, not for himself. So be a humanist advocate, who defends humans," said Dr. Tongat in his speech as well as closing PKPA activities.

Furthermore, Dr. Tongat advised that a humanist vision should always be a value inherent in PKPA participants. This is in line with the vision of FH UMM, namely professional, humanist and religious.

 

The PKPA agenda was officially closed at 11:30 WIB. As many as 50 PKPA batch 4 participants then continued with the try out agenda at 13.00 WIB at the same place. The try out aims to prepare them for the upcoming advocate professional exams.

Previously, on Friday (23/10) yesterday, attended as one of the speakers, the Chief Justice of the Indonesian Constitutional Court, Dr. H. Anwar Usman, SH., MH. As the main speaker, Anwar delivered material on the Procedural Law of the Constitutional Court. In his presentation, Anwar did not only convey theory, but also gave examples of its application. Including several cases that are currently being discussed in the country.

 

Anwar emphasized that the highest court is a court that involves conscience. "As an advocate, the facts we convey will influence the judge's decision. If the facts we present are honest, but the judge still makes the wrong decision, it will still be returned to the judge's conscience,” said the official who was born in Bima.

 

On the other hand, the Head of DPC Peradi Malang Raya Iwan Kuswardi, SH., MH., said that his party deliberately presented the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court so that PKPA participants could gain knowledge and experience directly from the experts. "His credibility, right, is not in doubt. With the knowledge provided, we really hope that the PKPA participants will become credible advocates, "said Iwan. (nain / can)
