Becoming an educator is certainly a noble ideal, for the sake of building a progressive nation. This is what Valensius Sugiharto done by dedicated himself to be a teacher at SDN Wongkol Torok, Lembor District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province.
"Teaching in schoolslocated in places with the category of underdeveloped villages, there are many obstacles encountered. Like the facilities and infrastructure which unsupportive, lacking learning media, the school building facilities are not yet supportive so there are so many obstacles," Valensius said at the Basement Dome of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM).

Not only that, the obstacle that Valensius faced was that the school where he taught was in an environment where the profession of agriculture was growing, with the parents level of education were mostly dropped outfrom school. "After graduated from elementary school, manyof themdid not continue their education to help their parents' economy," he explained, Wednesday (9/18).
The struggle of this man who is still an honorary teacher even deserves a thumbs up in handling 160 students in SDN Wongkol Torok. Located 3 kilometers away from his housewith a rocky road, Valensius was willing to fight for the improvement of education for his students.

"The obstacle is that even though I have a vehicle, but during the rainy season at our school it was all mud. So,no teacher and students use shoes and I have to walk to get totheschool,” he continued.

This man, who graduated from Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD), succeeded in becoming one of the participants in the Special Region Teacher Program (PPG), which was programmed by the government as a representative of schools located in underdeveloped categorized villages through the Pretest Teacher Competency Test ( UKG).
"From the beginning, it was indeed based on the UKG Pretest, so when it was confirmed the other day by the Educational Personnel Education Institute (LPTK) Me and my colleague from West Manggarai were entitled to attend PPG education for 3 months at UMM," Valensius said.
In the course of the three-month period, the implementation of 8-day PPG activities at the Center for Development and Empowerment of Educators and Education Personnel (PPPPTK) was then continued with educational activities at UMM for two months and after that, field practice for three weeks.
"I hope that in the future, the welfare of educators or honorary teachers will continue to be considered by the government," he concluded in the graduation event and the delivery of teaching certificates of the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) II Period 2019 with a total of 380 graduates people consisted of 112 or 29% men and 268 or 71% women.
The PPG In Position (Daljab) graduates were 291 people. It consists of 260 graduates who are under the auspices of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education and 31 graduates under the auspices of the Ministry of Religion. Pre-service PPG81 people, and PPG SM3T 8 people.
