In order to create superior human resources (HR), the Government Science Study Program (IP) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) launched two Centers of Excellence (CoE). Both are the political government analyst class and the village government class. These two classes will hook various business and industrial worlds (DUDI), such as PT. Yogyakarta Main Vision Synergy, and some governments, such as Tulungrejo Village, Batu City, and others. The program, which was launched on March 7, 2023, is also part of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program.

The person in charge of this program, Ali Roziqin, S.AP., MPA, explained that student participants would be involved for approximately six months. During that time, it is expected that they will be able to strengthen technical practices and skills regarding political and village governance. Starting from administration to running programs in various villages and places.

"This class also invites practitioners from political and government consultant institutions and the head and village officials, who will explain how things are and run a government. So far, there are more than 10 villages in Magetan and Batu, as well as a number of companies that have been hooked up," said the lecturer and the head of the SG UMM laboratory.

This class will later bring in practitioners, for example, from political and government consulting institutions for the government and political analyst candll as village heads and village officials for the village government analyst class. "So far, this program has collaborated with various consultants, such as PT. Synergy Yogyakarta and 4 villages in Batu City and 9 villages in Magetan, "explained Ali.

The partners welcomed these two COEs. One of them is Suliono, who is the head of Tulungrejo village. He considers that synergies like this can be mutually beneficial. Students can get practical knowledge about village management. Meanwhile, his party can get energy assistance and fresh ideas from young people.

"Therefore, this collaboration can hone and improve student skills with the implementation of community empowerment programs and village economic development," he said.

The dozens of students who have passed the selection are students from batch 2020 who have been equipped with various theories and skills and honed through the COE.

The Dean of FISIP UMM, Prof. Dr. Muslimin Machmud, M.Sc, also appreciated this program. He is optimistic that all CoE processes will run well and be successful. According to him, the existence of technology and the development of literacy will impact the mechanics of the labor market. So this superior class is expected to be able to answer that challenge.

"Students must take advantage of this class to gain practical skills so that they can become winners and a superior generation in the midst of intense job competition," he concluded. (put/*/will)
