With the encouragement of emotional motivation from her lecturers, Syifa Cahya Ramdhati successfully became one of the best graduates of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) in 2024 with numerous international experiences. Syifa, who graduated on August 29th, said that strong intention, achievable targets, and sincere efforts were the keys.
Her international academic journey began in the first semester of college. She actively participated in the International Short Course Winter & Spring program at Asia University Taiwan in 2020-2021. Then she participated and engaged in other international programs. One of her highlights was successfully completing a one-semester process at Kadir Has University Türkiye.

For one semester in Turkey, Syifa attended lectures diligently with a learning system based on full discussion for 2-3 hours of lessons in the class forum. In addition, she admitted that she got new courses that she did not find during her studies at UMM, such as moral psychology and group process. She also joined the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), a forum for international students in Turkey, especially in the Kadir Has University area.
“I really enjoy all the activities and the exchange of new information about world culture in the forum. The activities included sharing sessions, dance classes, cultural performances from each country of origin, field trips, and open donations for international event issues,” she said.
Furthermore, the girl from Bandung had the opportunity to be involved in the International Short Course and Internship of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang x Asia University Taiwan 2023. She acted as an interpreter who assisted 25 Taiwanese students while in Indonesia. This included assessing some of the phenomena of psychological cases that occur in Indonesia and Taiwan. During the same year, she was also chosen as a delegation representing UMM Psychology in the FIBAA International Accreditation Program in 2023. She said that this process required long preparation guided by the faculty team, and the assessment was very strict.

She is grateful that she can study at UMM, which always provides privileges with various activities and information on international scholarships. She usually gets information through the International Relations Office (IRO) at UMM, which is always up to date about information and scholarships.
She advised the youth to always strive to achieve their dreams. According to him, UMM has been facilitating and providing opportunities for its students. It provides a forum for the various potentials that youths can have. “My message to fellow students is not to just wait for information either.
