Indonesia was born into a big country both in terms of quality and quantity of resources. This can be proven from the largest inheritance in the world, it was the area and the number of people in Indonesia. In addition, Indonesia also had a variety of natural and cultural resources.

"The most expensive inheritance from the Republic of Indonesia is brotherhood, unity. So it must avoid the potential for division. Keeping this heritage is the key, "said Muhadjir Effendy, Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture in the National in Pre-Tanwir Muhammadiyah at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Thursday (7/2).

If previously it was said that Indonesia was a large country, said Muhadjir, now it should be a developed country. "A large country is a prerequisite for becoming a developed country. To become an advanced country, one of them must be supported by infrastructure, "said the UMM Rector for the period 2000-2016

"Development without infrastructure is like praying without ablution. There is not a developed country without infrastructure. And Indonesia has only 40% of the infrastructure prerequisites to become developed countries. So our task now is to utilize all available potential to become a progressive country, "he added.

He continued, indeed not the only infrastructure was a prerequisite for developed countries, but also skilled and moral human resources. The cultivation of ethical education was very important before formal education. Thus Muhadjir during his officiate as Minister of Education and Culture emphasized the importance of character education.

"Muhammadiyah is one of the organizations responsible for guarding the formation of the character of the Indonesian people. We can see from the footsteps of Muhammadiyah leaders, how to build a country with the basic character of Muhammadiyah, "said Muhadjir who was also the Vice Chair of the UMM Daily Advisory Board.

Muhajir gave an example, the role of Ir. Djuanda was the originator of the Djuanda Declaration which was currently felt by the island nations. Djuanda as a Muhammadiyah figure who claimed the insight of Nusantara, that all Indonesian land and oceans were the region of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

"If we trace the traces of history, Muhammadiyah is more than enough to show that we have a meaningful contribution with the compassionate spirit of the Muhammadiyah version to build the NKRI. And now it's our job to continue it, "Muhadjir said in front of five hundreds of participants who attended. (Win)
