Today's young generation is crucial in holding this nation as educational and economic change agent. The part of a more youthful generation also determines solid and resilient national development. Shinta Widjaja Kamdani said this as the Head of B20 Indonesia at the 105th Graduation period III of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), which was held on (6/10) at the UMM Dome Hall.
The Coordinator of Vice Chairwoman III, Kadin Indonesia, explained that B20 would form the Future of Work and Education. It will be brought up at the G-20 forum next November. The B20 formulates three main themes: the creation of sustainable jobs, education and skills that match the productivity of the world of work, and involvement in the recovery and development of future industries.
Shinta revealed that young people today are three times more likely to become unemployed in the future. He also emphasized that it is time for the younger generation to take control of the nation's changes as entrepreneurs by opening up the most comprehensive possible employment opportunities. The increase in young entrepreneurs will also be directly proportional to the rise in innovation in the creative industry.
"It is time for the generation, especially young graduates, to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit as early as possible. It has an important role in the nation's economic growth in the future," he added.
Meanwhile, Prof. Muhadjir Effendi, M.A.P, the chairman of the UMM Daily Development Board, explained that Indonesia in the future would be overshadowed by three crises: the energy crisis, food, and inflation.
