The new year brings a new spirit for many individuals to plan many good things. Annual resolutions are no exception. However, the plans are often only a list of things that cannot be successfully realized. "It is needed to make the plan more realistic, concrete and directed to achieve the goal. Therefore, it is not only about setting targets but also the steps to achieve them," he said.
Furthermore, Zainul said that before resolving, a person can start to do self-introspection in the past. It is important to do it as a learning process. Instead of remembering miserable things, it should be used as a life experience for the next plan. "Things that work so that they become motivation and things that fail can be a self-evaluation to be even better," he added.

Zainul said that to make a successful resolution, several steps need to be taken. First, gather a sense of gratitude for the various favours received. This will become a point where you get a positive energy. A person will be grateful if they always look at something positively. Likewise, if a person looks at something negatively, they will always complain.
"Secondly, you need to make a priority scale that you want to achieve over the next year, such as graduating in 2024, getting married, and buying a house. The priority scale is significant because small things will always follow. It's like if we put a lot of things into a glass, we should put the big ones first. Thus, the small ones will follow and be fulfilled," he explained.
Third, write down what you want or your target to remind yourself to think about it. Keep in mind that the mind works like a magnet. Whatever we always remember and think about will come closer to us.
"The fourth is to build a relationship related to your resolution. For example, if you want to graduate, look for an environment that intends to graduate on time. This is important to create a good climate," he adds.
Lastly, parents' support and prayer. The support of prayer will reduce the feeling of disappointment when the desired thing has not been achieved. Prayer can also strengthen mentally and spiritually. "For someone who does not have resolutions or believes that life is predestined is not wrong. The problem is when a person lives life just flowing without any definite grip or basis. This can make a person easily swayed, frustrated, and stressed because they do not have a clear purpose in life," he added.
In the end, he advised on the importance of self-reflection as a human being who has a healthy mind. Whatever you want to do and achieve, you must think logically and rationally and consider every consequence. "Do not be easily carried away by emotions before acting so as not to fall into the same mistakes and regret it later," he concluded. (dit/wil/put)
