KKCTBN 2020 at UMM is Ready to Repeat Last Year's Success

UMM Rector Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. in his remarks at the opening of the KKCTBN 2020 at Rayz Hotel UMM, Friday (6/11) stated that by participating in this activity, the participants had sharpened and prepared themselves to be ready to compete. Therefore, Fauzan invited all participants to be able to take full advantage of the opportunity.

"Currently, you are competing. In the future, I hope you can become the experts that you are currently competing in, "said Fauzan.

The KKCTBN2020is a collaboration between the National Achievement Center of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia with the theme Maritime Technology Innovation in Handling Covid-19. This theme was taken as a form of response and involvement of higher education in Indonesia in dealing with the current pandemic disaster.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the National Achievement Center Asep Sukmayadi said the KKCTBN2020was one of the important agendas of the National Achievement Center, in the conditions of the new Covid-19 era. This contest is a forum for developing innovations in shipping that involve students and lecturers from related fields of science.

Based on the results of the evaluation stage I and stage II, finalists were obtained for each category. The final event is held online and offline. Online finals are conducted for Category I. Meanwhile, offline finals are conducted specifically for Category II, including Autonomous Survace Vehicle (ASV), Electric Remote Control (ERC), and Fuel Engine Remote Control (FERC).

The offline final stage was attended by 15 selected teams consisting of 8 higher education institutions with details of 5 ASV Teams, 5 ERC Teams, and 5 FERC Teams. Meanwhile, for Category III there is no final round, but in the form of a one-round evaluation desk and directly selecting the winner.

"The implementation of the 2020 KKCTBN is an implementation with conditions and situations that require including a health protocol according to the conditions of Covid-19," said Asep Sukmayadi. (nain/can)
