LECTURE of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) increasingly creative in packing lecture assignment. Previously, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandary made the decorative plants exhibition as final lecture assignments. Now, study program of Communication Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP), which held Photography and Grafik Design Exhibition (27/12). Amount 700 design works and photography, which was created by student of 3rd and 1st semester were showed at Gedung Kuliah Bersama (GKB 1) UMM.
Fitri Kurniawati as lecturer of Graphich Computer subject said that, this exhibition held to appreciate student’s effort during one semester. Moreover, through this exhibition entire students created design seriously because the works would be seen publicly. She also said, nowadays lot of people did not appreciate the design works.
For instance, Fitri added, when someone asked to make design and logo then the reply was a thank you. “Whereas, design maker not just merely to make it, need ideas, choosing right colours etc. the ideas are not cheap and free,” Fitri explained in the exhibition.
Fitri also remarked, the exhibiton that held all day became the learning place for students how to appreciate the design works. In a design should pass numerous creating process. “There are a lot of students who come to me to consult their problem in creating a design, it indicated that students realized if to create design is not easy.” she explained.
In the exhibition, the design assigments were showed from the first lecture began. Including mug design, creative proposal, infographics were several works that showed. Fitri was amazed and praud when seeing her student design works. “All designs I see beyond my expectation, for the beginner all designs are very good works, the concept also very well planned” Fitri Explained proudly.
In line with Fitri, the lecture of the Basic Photography subject Rahadi explained. Photography not just a selfie photo, but contain of information and education value. The 1st semester student of program study of Communication Science tried to show in every photos that displayed.
According to Rahadi, the photos did not just stop in good aspects technically of shooting, but rather the art of seeing which was coupled by theory in the science of photography. "I try to teach that the photo is not solely to take, there must be an element to inform and to educate," Rahadi explained.
The chairman of the exhibition committee, Calvin Alam Putra explained, the theme of exhibition was Artphobic, which means fear of art. The Expectations of the theme that everyone could creates works without ashamed to start. Everyone has an artistic soul within, so everyone has right to show the art that has been produced. "Not merely students of Communication Science who could creates the works, but also other students able to show it," Calvin said. (Jal / han)
