Do not get caught up in work based on checklists, but work sincerely without coercion. Continue learning to understand students and become educators who nurture well. It was emphasized by the UMM Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Fauzan M.Pd, in coordinating lecture preparation activities for the 2023-2024 academic year at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). The activity was held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, and was attended by lecturers, deans, and vice-rectors.
On that occasion, the FIBAA international accreditation certificate was also handed over to three study programs: Communication Science, Management, and Psychology. Interestingly, at that coordination, UMM also launched Penjamin Mutu Internal (SPMI) (trans: the Internal Quality Assurance System Sistem) 2.0 as a performance report card for lecturers.

Furthermore, Fauzan said the main capital of an organization, both social and business organizations, is to have a work culture or a strong organization, likewise in developing education that requires a good work culture and dignify each other.
"Alhamdulillah, I see that UMM has established a good work culture with humanist communication. It is also proven by the achievement of international accreditation from various study programs that we have," said Fauzan.
Therefore, collegiality in each unit must be strengthened. Thus, the path to universities with quality and brilliant achievements will be easier. He also advised the lecturers or educators to feel uneasy if they did not make or create an innovation.

"The Center of Excellence (CoE) that we have is actually a spark for innovation and other new ideas. This program was formed in order for students to have a college life with work engagement. Hence, they not only have academic provisions but also soft skills that are needed in the world of work," Fauzan explained.
According to him, CoE is a futuristic program. It has received a lot of attention from many parties. Whether it's at the national or international level, including from UNESCO. Moreover, programs like this are unavailable at other universities.
Finally, Fauzan also emphasized that currently, UMM is implementing 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the tri dharma of the university. This is conducted as a commitment to UMM's awareness. Not only in the educational field but also in contributing to the world community. (Put/Zak/Wil)
