Maba UMM Inherit Muhammadiyah Leaders Struggle DNA

Director General for Defense Potential  (Dirjen Pothan) Indonesia's Ministry of Defense Dr. Sutrimo stated that new students (maba) of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) were  special people. The reason was they were the best people who inherited the spirit of Muhammadiyah leaders struggle.

Sutrimo said the founding fathers of Muhammadiyah since the beginning of its movement had pioneered progressive Islamic movement. While UMM, according to Sutrimo's view, was a campus whose its visions were  in line with the vision and mission of the founding fathers of Muhammadiyah.

"The vision and mission of Muhammadiyah founding fathers is in line with the vision and mission of UMM. Automatically, the DNA of Muhammadiyah struggle figures are flowing in the blood of new students of UMM," said Sutrimo during the pulbic lecture on Introduction of New Student Studies (Pesmaba) at UMM Hall Dome on Monday, September 4.

This Alumni of SMA Muhammadiyah Kudus said that as Muhammadiyah’s university (PTM), no doubt UMM will develop students to be self-confidence, independent, integrity, tenacious, never give up, and Pancasilais (nationalists). Those values ​​were inline with the purity of Islamic teachings that become the soul of Muhammadiyah. "You are very lucky to study at  Muhammadiyah campus. I only had Muhammadiyah education in high school, " Sutrimo said. (Naz)
