FEB Students Hold Culinary Entrepreneurship and Creative Industries

CREATIVE: Student of D3 Finance and Banking Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) culinary entrepreneurship in Bazar was held.

CULINARY and creative industries had become young entrepreneurs’ trend today, because it had a very ensure potential. Therefore, through entrepreneurs’ bazaar, D3 Studies Program in Finance and Banking, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) seeked to provide an opportunity for students for a career in that field.

At the event held in front of Lecture Building II, Tuesday (6/12), the products offered were faceted although it was dominated by culinary. All of them were 5th semester.

"This is a practical course on Entrepreneurship. Students are asked to pour creative entrepreneurial ideas through this bazaar. The goal is to equip and develop entrepreneurial abilities at the beginner stage, "said Yunan Syaifullah MSc, one of the professors who is doing assessment bazaar booth.

In the early weeks of the course, students were asked to make a business proposal as an introduction. The group of students with a decent proposal and then forward to make bazaar. Furthermore, after the Middle Semester Exam, bazaar was held. In total, 25 booths selected from 3 existing classes. Each booth was fronted by 4-5 students.

Even though it was a part of the lab, but not all the booths were on display. The ones exhibited were 'impromptu' stand yesterday. At the north end of the booth, it was stood a booth that sold a variety of clothes and accessories distro typical, Diamond Goblin. Apparently, this booth was one entrepreneur which developed by the students outside the campus. Not only that, a Mix booth was ​​also a booth operated in a small café in Sawojajar. It was a productive initiative of three students, who were classmates. "They are already trying entrepreneurs even though it was not yet a student. They are also still young, "said Gery Ardiansyah, the 5th semester student.

There were several points become lecturers’ assessment, among creative products, product consignment, price, beauty, hygiene, the ability of the product description, and promotions. Yunan rated that, culinary themes presented by the most students was a form of basic needs and market today's society.

"Hopefully, the students have a stock and the ability and can start to become entrepreneurs beginners in the future. It not only starts, but also follows the business, "said Yunan.

Unlike in previous years, which was held on the 4th floor of GKB II, this was held in front of GKB II. Strategic locations selected made this bazaar crowded with UMM students and lecturers which passing this way. Thus, the initial plan bazaar was closed at 15:30, but at noon was already closed because all had been sold out. (Ich / han)
