On Saturday (30/12), Teaching Program of Primary School Teachers (PGSD) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held PGSD Art Performance 2017. Dance event entitled "Create Entrepreneur in Traditional Dance to Build World of Education" was held at car park of UMM.

This dance event was the final duty of the 1st elementary school culture art course taken by the students of Prodi PGSD 2016.

In total, there were 36 dances served. Interestingly, the dances were pure PGSD students, ranging from music to choreography.

The lecturer of Art Elementary School 1, Arina Reftian, S.Pd., M.Pd., said that the purpose of this activity was to keep the Indonesian cultural heritage, especially in the form of dance.

"It is expected that every graduate of PGSD UMM besides being a professional educator, they can create their own authentic artwork," said Arina.

Arina also added, the current curriculum is still lacking in encouraging students and students to develop the values of art and culture of Indonesia. Therefore, it takes a similar event to encourage students to be more active in maintaining cultural values.

"Hopefully, through this activity the students are more motivated to preserve the cultural values of Indonesia," concluded one of the initiators of Rumah Budaya Indonesia, which also cooperated with Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in New Zealand.

Making a dance and publicizing it in public was not a simple matter. This was expressed by Galih Ayuningtyas, one of the participants PGSD Art Performance 2017.

In addition to clumsy must appear in public, he also said the Dance of Parrot that she demonstrated with friends passed a long process.

"The difficulty is making the song, how to connect one tone with another. It's not as difficult as choreography, because I've danced before," said Galih. (ard)
