Many high school students want to continue their studies to college, but they are often unable to do so due to economic problems. This moved Hilmy Aziz Mas'ud, a student majoring in Psychology at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), and his team to innovate through Sharpa Academy. The innovations that aim to help students get the scholarship of their dreams have successfully passed the Program Pembinaan Mahasiswa Wirausaha (P2MW) (trans: Entrepreneurial Student Development Program) from Kemendikbud-Ristek RI.
Hilmy, his nickname, explained that according to the data, more than 3.7 million students do not continue to the university level. Meanwhile, only 1.8 million students can pursue their dreams of attending university. So, his team created a technology-based mentoring class encouraging underprivileged students to attend college.

"So in there, we provide systematic guidance classes guided by speakers who are experienced in their fields. Each class is also designed in a millennial style. By doing so, participants can increase the possibility of achieving their dream scholarship," said Hilmy.
His team also designed each class based on technology because it is faster, more efficient, and more accessible. So that students and participants can be easier and more comfortable following it. The presenters will also provide tips and steps that participants can take to reach the desired scholarship.
The student from Gresik said that currently, Sharpa Academy is still focusing on domestic scholarships. But later, as it develops, they will also bring in speakers who can help participants get foreign scholarships.

"We will also collaborate with the other parties in doing this mission. As an example, collaborating with academics scholarship. Therefore, the advantage will not only for Malang area only but also in the other areas," he adds.
Interestingly, the idea of Sharpa Academy was started by one of his team members who had to struggle to fulfill his economic needs. According to Hilmy, this became the spirit for his team to encourage young people to go to college and become agents of change who provide good societal changes. (put/ri/wil)
