With a spirit of innovation and creativity, students from Muhammadiyah Malang University (UMM) organized an "Isi Piringku" program awareness session at State Elementary School Kebonsari 2, Malang City, on August 12th. Using an engaging Pop-Up Book as a learning medium, they introduced healthy eating habits to second-grade students. This activity was part of the Community Service Program by Students (PMM) group 91 wave 1 of UMM.
Asa Chalisatul Aula, the team leader, explained that the program aims to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle from an early age. The "Isi Piringku" program, which they promoted, is an initiative by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) to replace the previous "4 Sehat 5 Sempurna" program, with a focus on a balanced nutritional composition in every meal.

"In this awareness session, we encouraged students to learn more about the importance of filling half of their plates with vegetables and fruits, and the other half with carbohydrates and proteins," she explained.
Asa, as she is commonly known, further explained that the use of Pop-Up Books as a learning medium was intended to make the material more interesting and easier for the students to understand.
"We wanted to create a fun and interactive learning environment, so the students would be more enthusiastic about receiving new information. The colorful Pop-Up Books with 3D elements capture their attention while also enhancing their sensory and motor skills," she continued.
To maintain the students' enthusiasm, the session was interspersed with games and quizzes related to the material presented. The highlight of the event was a group meal session, where all the students brought lunches from home, filled according to the "Isi Piringku" guidelines. This was intended to directly apply what they had learned and reinforce their understanding of the importance of healthy eating habits.

In addition to focusing on the students, the UMM student team also involved the local PKK mothers in promoting the "Dagusibu" program, which stands for "get, use, store, and dispose." This program, a campaign by the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI), educates the community on proper medication management. It is hoped that this approach will increase public awareness of the importance of maintaining health not only through diet but also in the daily management of medications.
Finally, Asa and her team hope to make a positive impact on the children and the surrounding community, encouraging them to adopt healthy lifestyles in their daily lives. "A healthy generation that grows optimally can certainly foster and create an intelligent generation as well," she hoped. (Din/Faq/fajr)
