Students from University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) are innovating once again. This time, UMM development economics student Andriyan Kristianto and his team have successfully developed "cornpaper"—paper made from corn husk raw materials. Along with four UMM management students, he managed to secure a spot in the national Entrepreneurial Student Development Program (P2MW) event.
Andri and his team participated in the manufacturing and applied technology category. They noticed the large amount of corn husk waste being discarded, so they decided to use it to create a more valuable product—paper. This "cornpaper" product is considered environmentally friendly because, in addition to being made from natural materials, it is also easily biodegradable.
