Another achievement was made by the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) students at the Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Provinsi Jawa Timur II (Pomprov Jatim II) (trans: East Java Province II Student Sports Week), which was held at the end of July. He is Fikram Inai, a student of the Program Pendidikan Ulama Tarjih (PPUT) (trans: Tarjih Ulama Education Program) Islamic Family Law, who won third place in the 10,000-meter run. Interestingly, despite using borrowed shoes, he made a brilliant achievement.

"It happened that my shoes were not suitable for long-distance running and the time is short. So the trample felt more painful. Therefore, I borrowed special shoes for long runs from the coach in order to run well and comfortably. Alhamdulillah, the coach at UMM is very supportive, as well as the campus," he said.

This 2019 student said one of the reasons he could succeed so far was the important role of the athletic UKM, which he joined at UMM in 2019. He spends a lot of time in this unit practicing with other athletes. Whether jogging three times a week, leg strength, hand strength, or endurance training. This routine is increasing before the competition.

His interest in the world of athletics has emerged since junior high school. But he admitted he only felt the real training when he was on the UMM, the White Campus. The competitions at UMM, such as the rector cup, also encourage him to be able to perform his best.

Despite his success in winning the championship, Ikram also experienced various problems. For him, the difficulties arose from himself. For example, he was fighting laziness to practice. The reason is the fatigue during training makes him quite tortured. His muscles became stiff, and it was often painful for him to walk.

"Victory has to be achieved, right? Luckily, my friends in UKM always inspire and encourage me," he said.

Interestingly, Ikram is happy to share his tips on how to enjoy running. One of them is there must be motivation from ourselves. Likewise, enjoying the steps and breath that come out when running. He even suggested counting the steps and praising every step taken, even when competing. He does this so that Allah SWT can bless every action.

"Do whatever you like as long as it's good and positive. Don't be afraid and insecure to do what you like. Make it your own strength so it can be useful for you and others," he said. (Put/Nov/Wil)
