The health team plays an important role in ensuring the competition is safe and comfortable. It is also conducted by the health team of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) in the ASEAN University Games (AUG) pencak silat sport event held at the White Campus Dome. The competition, which was held on July 3–7th, is inevitable for physical injuries because it is a martial arts sport.
"There must be physical injuries due to the bump. The injuries are usually bruises, fractures, or even dislocated joints. However, in the past two days, the AUG has been relatively safe. Yesterday, an athlete from Singapore suffered a broken collarbone. Alhamdulillah, it has been treated and handled well. Moreover, UMM also has a hospital nearby, "explained team coordinator Dr. Wildan Firmansyah.

Interestingly, the health team prepared more than the usual standard. If usually only four health teams are deployed, this time the team consists of 8–10 people. There is an anesthesiologist, a neurologist, and seven general practitioners. In addition, there was also a physiotherapist team and a series of volunteers from the youth.
"We prepared more than the standard due to the consideration that this is a big and international event. With more people, we hope to ensure that everything is safe and under control during the AUG pencak silat sports event," said the UMM Hospital doctor.

Two ambulances are also provided, one transport ambulance and one advance ambulance. Both are equipped with sufficient equipment, especially the advanced model. Therefore, if there is any accident or serious injury, it can be immediately treated and taken to the hospital for further treatment. Especially if the injury is serious and needs special treatment.
Finally, the doctor, who frequently participates as a volunteer team, hopes that there will be a better communication platform between health teams in several venues as well. Therefore, they can discuss and help each other in order to have a better influence. In addition, experienced volunteers will also be a great team to help with various injuries during the competition. (wil/put)
