The Closing Ceremony of Djazman English Scholarship Program Makes Language Improvement Achievements |
The Djazman English Scholarship Program, a collaboration between the Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah (IMM) (trans: Muhammadiyah Student Association), the Language Center (LC) of the Muhammadiyah University of Malang (UMM), the DPP IMM, and Rumah Baca Cerdas (RBC) Institute A. Malik Fadjar, has completed its three-month mission. With 180 meetings, the program focused on developing English language skills among students on Monday (21/8/2023).
The Vice Dean III of UMM, Dr. Nur Subeki, St., MT, stated that UMM is fully committed to facilitating the researchers by establishing specialized laboratories to develop interest in linguistics and research. It also aimed to prepare great scholars for the next golden generation. One of the real outputs of the Djazman English Scholarship Program is that several participants have participated in overseas programs.

"The achievements and enthusiasm of the Djazman English Scholarship Program are not only to improve language skills, but also to inspire all generations to speak not only with words, but also real actions. UMM will definitely provide a special platform to facilitate these prospective scholars," he said.
This program had at least 28 participants, comprising 15 IELTS participants and 13 TOEFL participants. The program encountered challenges with disqualifying one IELTS participant and withdrawing one TOEFL participant due to illness. Nevertheless, the program was completed by 26 individuals, including 14 IELTS participants and 12 TOEFL participants. This result shows the extraordinary dedication and commitment of the IMM cadres.

Meanwhile, Abdul Musawir Yahya, MH, Chairman of Dewan Pimpinan Pusat (DPP) IMM (trans: the IMM Central Leadership Council), highlighted the importance of this language training program to improve English proficiency. He added that it is time for the IMM cadres to become international spokespersons with quality foreign language skills.
"Through this program, we hope to provide ideas and creativity from various perspectives. Moreover, this program is not only intended for IMM members who are already in the organizational structure, but also open to outside individuals who have special potential."
Finally, Abdul advised that the student community needs to transform by prioritizing research as fundamental in making decisions. It should not only rely on speculative assumptions.
"The research that is embedded and conducted through the Djazman English Scholarship program is very unique and will not be found in other programs. With the existence of this program, we want to generate a positive spirit in all IMMs in Indonesia, both in the field of language and research to take wise steps in various sectors," he concluded.
