CHAIRMAN of Muhammadiyah, Prof. Dr. Din Syamsudin,MA, period of 2005-2015 emphasized the importance of reinforcing character in moderate Islamic movement Muhammadiyah in the middle of the struggle of world ideologies. It was announced when he asked as a speaker at the Seminar Pre-Tanwir at UMM BAU Auditorium, Wednesday (22/2).
Recently, the world faced with situation which some observers was called a great disruption or major disruption. Mainly due to the damage accumulative in the life of the world.
"Neither poverty, ignorance, backwardness, injustice, inequality, to violence in all its forms, including shock of cultural tsunami or flood," said Din.
Likewise, the ideological war on the culture war was a situation that undoubtedly occurred, including in internal religion. It was mainly related to the different understandings of the teachings of religion that spawned schools in Islam as well as the different streams.
"In my opinion, it is because the scriptures including the Quran which has an ambivalent character, the verses that can be interpreted. There are passages that tend to be interpreted in a positive sense, and there are also passages which tend to be understood negatively, "said Din.
Din advised, as an organization of Islamic communities to declare himself as a wasathiyah movement, Muhammadiyah was expected providing a solution through the streets of moderate or constitutional, not the road taken by the Islamic extremist movement.
Meanwhile, Tanwir which was the highest deliberation Peryarikatan Muhammadiyah would bring 'Sovereignty and Social Justice Towards Indonesia Berkemajuan' theme after the congress. Related to the implementation of the trial Tanwir Muhammadiyah, Din hoped Muhammadiyah members remained on the return of a moderate understanding of Islam, which was decent.
Meanwhile, in order to welcome Muhammadiyah Tanwir colloquium in Ambon 24 to 26 February 2017 presented a number of speakers. They were, Prof. Syafiq A. Mughni paneled with Prof. Dr. Masdar Hilmy that covered 'Affirmation of Identity Muhammadiyah as the Islamic Movement of Moderates' topic. In the second session presented Prof. Dr. Munir Mulkhan, Dr. Sugiarti, M.Si, Dr. Budi Suprapto, M.Sc. who discussed 'Muhammadiyah and Cultural Sovereignty in the Age of Digital Revolution' topics.
