The song Sang Surya was played at the Abdul Malik Fadjar International Boarding School (AMF) on July 13th. The song was the finale of a drama that was also the beginning of Santri and Santriwati's journey to gain knowledge at the international boarding school. The parents and guardians who brought their sons and daughters to the new students' ceremony of PPI AMF were also present.

In greeting the guests and students, PPI AMF Director Dr. Suprat, M.Ed., invited the parents to join in praying for their children to be able to raise their determination and high hopes to become successful people. According to him, enrolling their children in AMF is an investment in the children's future, including the future of the community.

“Success cannot be achieved without full determination and belief. Thus, by relying on Allah and praying for our children, Insha'Allah, they will become strong, good, and successful children in the future,” he said.

He emphasized that the experience of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership of East Java and the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) in managing education and servicing the community is undeniable. They will certainly give their best to ensure the good of the students.

A similar thing was also said by UMM Vice Chancellor I, Prof. Akhsanul In'am, in front of the guardians of the students. According to him, AMF is the ideal place to provide education for the students. Moreover, the director and deputy director are foreign graduates. Therefore, there will be many new things that support and are able to create an international climate in this boarding school.

“Allah has positioned his people based on two things, which are the levels of faith and knowledge. Insha'Allah, AMF can become a solution for your sons and daughters to get both. Later, they will be able to become the best cadres of Islam and Muhammadiyah,” he emphasized.

He also said that in the past, when the late Prof. Malik Fadjar was still healthy, he dreamed of an institution like AMF. But unfortunately, this dream could not be implemented until he passed away.

“We, the UMM academic community, heard his plan, and finally, Alhamdulillah, we were able to realize it by acquiring this land and building. Then he donated to Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership of East Java and established AMF,” he said.

Finally, the Deputy Chairman of Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership, Dr. Hidayatullah, M.Si, also attended the taaruf period. He said that the Muhammadiyah organization is indeed projected for an infinite period. Muhammadiyah is also an Islamic movement, da'wah, tajdid, and tanwir.

“The Muhammadiyah action does not have geographical boundaries. There are more than 30 special branches of Muhammadiyah in various countries, including Aisyiyah, IMM, and even IPM. Each of these branches also has a business charity. Muhammadiyah also has universities abroad, such as in Malaysia and Australia,” he added.

Muhammadiyah's contribution to Indonesia is also significant, including in education. There are tens of thousands of educational institutions owned by Muhammadiyah throughout Indonesia. In East Java, there are more than 1035 from elementary to high school. One of them is this AMF, which is designed for an international climate.

Hidayatullah also invited the Santri to believe and have ideals like Abdul Malik Fadjar's message. “I remember when I was taught by Mr. Malik. He advised that we may not have anything, but we must still have dreams,” he concluded. (wil/put)
